Xiaomi has unveiled its most powerful electric vehicle (EV) yet, the SU7 Ultra. The high-performance flagship sedan was officially showcased at the company’s launch ceremony in China.

Unmatched Performance

According to Xiaomi, the SU7 Ultra delivers an astonishing 1,548 horsepower and can sprint from 0 to 100 km/h in just 1.98 seconds, making it the fastest four-door production vehicle in the world.

The SU7 Ultra is designed for the track, with a tri-motor powertrain, a high-power 93.7 kWh battery pack, and an advanced cooling system that allows it to withstand two consecutive hot laps on the legendary Nürburgring Nordschleife circuit without overheating. Xiaomi has also outfitted the EV with the largest carbon ceramic brake discs ever fitted to a production sedan.

Record-Breaking Prototype

Xiaomi’s R&D efforts have paid off, as the SU7 Ultra prototype recently set a new four-door production vehicle record at the Nürburgring, lapping the circuit in 6 minutes and 46.874 seconds. The production version may not quite match that time, but it is still expected to deliver an exhilarating and track-focused driving experience.

Striking Aerodynamic Design and Interior

Furthermore, the SU7 Ultra’s striking design features a more aggressive aerodynamic kit compared to the standard SU7, including a large rear spoiler that generates 285 kg of downforce.

Xiaomi is now accepting pre-orders for the SU7 Ultra in China, with a starting price of RMB 814,900 (around $114,200). The company says it received 3,680 pre-orders within 10 minutes of the pre-sale launch. Deliveries of the production model are scheduled to begin in March 2025.
