Xiaomi has filed a new ultra-high-performance YU7 GT electric SUV in China, revealing a 990-horsepower variant that significantly ups the output of its Tesla Model Y rival.
Xiaomi has submitted regulatory filings for the YU7 GT, a new high-performance version of its YU7 electric SUV, according to a catalog released by China’s Ministry of Industry and Information Technology.
The YU7 GT features a dual-motor powertrain producing a combined 738 kW (990 horsepower), well above the 508 kW (681 horsepower) output of the current YU7 Max variant. The filing lists a top speed of 300 km/h, positioning the YU7 GT as Xiaomi’s most extreme SUV to date.
The YU7 GT measures 5,015 mm long, 2,007 mm wide, and 1,597 mm tall, with a 3,000 mm wheelbase, slightly larger than the standard YU7. Curb weight is listed at 2,460 kg, according to CNEV Post.
Power comes from a dual-motor setup with peak outputs of 288 kW at the front and 450 kW at the rear. By comparison, the YU7 Max uses 220 kW and 288 kW motors and accelerates from 0 to 100 km/h in 3.23 seconds. Based on its higher output, the YU7 GT is expected to approach a 0–100 km/h time near two seconds.
The performance variant rides on wider 21-inch wheels, with 265/40R21 tires up front and 295/35R21 tires at the rear. Battery supply comes from CATL, using ternary lithium cells.

Xiaomi officially launched the YU7 in June 2025 as its first electric SUV and a direct competitor to the Tesla Model Y. The model has quickly become the company’s volume leader, with deliveries exceeding 39,000 units in December and strong momentum continuing into early 2026.
The YU7 GT would slot below Xiaomi’s SU7 Ultra sedan, which remains the brand’s most powerful vehicle with a tri-motor setup producing 1,138 kW (1,526 horsepower).
Xiaomi has not yet announced pricing or a launch timeline for the YU7 GT.
