Genesis has unveiled the first comprehensive redesign of its GV60 electric vehicle (EV) model, marking a significant evolution for the luxury brand’s inaugural dedicated EV since its 2021 debut.

Bold New Exterior and Signature Lighting

The most striking change appears at the front of the model, where Genesis has implemented a bold new bumper design with three-dimensional sculpting that creates a more commanding presence on the road. The updated model incorporates the brand’s latest lighting technology, featuring Micro Lens Array (MLA) headlamps that integrate seamlessly with Genesis’s signature Two Lines design language, a distinctive feature that has become emblematic of the brand’s modern identity.

Moreover, Genesis has equipped the refreshed GV60 with new 21-inch five-spoke wheels, which complement the vehicle’s coupe-inspired silhouette. The design team has paid particular attention to visual cohesion, matching the wheel arch cladding, fender garnishes, and rear skid plate to the body color, creating a more sophisticated and unified appearance that emphasizes the vehicle’s low, wide stance.

Interior Upgrades with New Infotainment

For the interior, Genesis has made equally significant advances in technology and design. The most notable addition is a new 27-inch connected car Integrated Cockpit (ccIC) infotainment system. This expansive display eliminates the traditional bezel separation between instrument cluster and entertainment screens, creating a seamless digital interface that enhances both functionality and the perception of interior space.

In addition, Genesis has retained popular features from the original model, including the distinctive Crystal Sphere gear selector while introducing a new three-spoke steering wheel that adds a sporting character to the driving environment.

Balancing Performance and Comfort

These updates align with Genesis’s dual design philosophies: “Athletic Elegance” for exterior styling and “Beauty of White Space” for interior aesthetics. This approach reflects the brand’s commitment to balancing dynamic performance with luxurious comfort, a combination that has helped establish Genesis as a serious contender in the premium electric vehicle market.

While Genesis has yet to release complete technical specifications for the updated model, it is anticipated that improvements in battery capacity and range will arrive. The current GV60 offers up to 294 miles of range, suggesting the new model could potentially exceed 300 miles per charge.

Pricing for the 2025 Genesis GV60 will start at $52,350 in the United States (U.S.), with a new all-wheel-drive (AWD) variant positioned at $55,850 – notably $5,000 less than the previous Advanced AWD trim level. This competitive pricing strategy could help Genesis capture a larger share of the growing luxury electric SUV market.

Global Launch Plans in 2025

The redesigned GV60 will first arrive in South Korean showrooms during Q1 2025, with launches in other markets, including Europe, to follow. Detailed specifications and market-specific pricing will be announced closer to the regional launch dates.

As Genesis continues to expand its EV portfolio while pursuing its commitment to achieving carbon neutrality by 2035, the enhanced GV60 represents the brand’s evolving vision for premium electric mobility and its growing confidence in the EV segment.
