Genesis has unveiled the 2026 Electrified GV70, a significant refresh of its popular electric vehicle (EV) model that brings notable improvements in charging capabilities, range, and technology.
The most headline-grabbing change is the addition of a native North American Charging Standard (NACS) port, which allows direct access to Tesla’s extensive Supercharger network. This upgrade effectively doubles the available DC fast-charging options for Genesis EV drivers, expanding to over 36,000 charging stations across the United States.
The new model contains significant upgrades, including an enhanced battery capacity increased from 77.4 kWh to 84 kWh, which boosts the expected range from 236 to around 250 miles. It also features native compatibility with Tesla Superchargers, a motorized and heated charging port with improved lighting for convenience, and a redesigned exterior that showcases an updated G-Matrix Crest Grille and multi-lens array headlamps for a sleek, modern look.
Performance remains consistent, with the dual-motor setup continuing to deliver 429 horsepower and 516 pound-feet of torque. Genesis has added subtle dynamic improvements, including a new Terrain Mode with specialized settings for different surface conditions.
Inside, the Electrified GV70 possess a dramatic transformation, centered around a new 27-inch OLED display that integrates both the instrument cluster and infotainment system. The interior follows a “Beauty of White Space” design principle, with consolidated controls and ambient lighting that enhances the premium feel.
Manufactured both in South Korea and at Hyundai’s Alabama plant, the 2026 Genesis Electrified GV70 is set to arrive at North American retailers in the first half of 2025. Pricing is expected to remain close to the current model’s starting point of $68,300.
The refresh comes at a crucial time for Genesis, as the Electrified GV70 has already become the brand’s most popular vehicle in North America since its introduction three years ago. With these significant upgrades, Genesis appears poised to strengthen its position in the competitive electric SUV market.
Customers can look forward to additional features including improved voice commands, over-the-air (OTA) update capabilities, and advanced driver assistance technologies like enhanced lane assist and a new diagonal parking assist feature.
As the EV landscape continues to evolve, the 2026 Genesis Electrified GV70 represents a strategic move to address consumer needs for charging convenience, range, and cutting-edge technology.
