2027 GMC Hummer EV Adopts Tesla’s NACS Charging Port

The 2027 GMC Hummer EV will come standard with Tesla’s North American Charging Standard (NACS) charging port, giving owners direct access to the Tesla Supercharger network without requiring a CCS port.

The update is part of a broader transition across General Motors’ electric vehicle lineup and arrives alongside several styling and feature enhancements for the new model year.

Hummer EV gains access to Tesla Superchargers

For the 2027 model year, every GMC Hummer EV SUV and Pickup will include a factory-installed NACS charging port.

The change replaces the Combined Charging System (CCS) port used on previous model years and aligns the Hummer EV with the rest of General Motors’ electric vehicle portfolio. The Cadillac Optiq was the first GM model to adopt the NACS connector, according to GM Authority.

With the new charging port, Hummer EV owners will be able to plug directly into Tesla’s extensive Supercharger network, as well as the growing IONNA charging network, which now includes more than 120 charging locations across the United States.

GM also continues to offer three EV charging package options, while the Hummer EV retains its bidirectional charging capability. The feature allows the vehicle to power a home during an outage or provide electricity to another compatible electric vehicle.

New colors, wheels, and familiar performance

The 2027 Hummer EV carries over its headline performance credentials.

The Hummer EV 3X Pickup equipped with the available 24-module battery pack continues to accelerate from 0 to 60 mph (97 km/h) in just 2.8 seconds, making it one of the quickest production pickup trucks on the market.

For 2027, GMC is also introducing four new exterior paint colors: Dark Ridge, Azurite Blue, Dark Ember, and Deep Void Matte. Buyers will also have two new 22-inch wheel designs to choose from.

Production of the 2027 GMC Hummer EV is scheduled to begin on Dec. 14, 2026, at GM’s Factory Zero assembly plant.
