Porsche has launched a limited edition Taycan Turbo electric vehicle (EV) model to celebrate its 10th anniversary in South Korea. The Taycan Turbo K-Edition, unveiled on Friday, features unique design elements inspired by Korean culture and is exclusively available in the Korean market.

Holger Gerrmann, CEO of Porsche Korea, explained, “The concept of the Taycan Turbo K-Edition is to lend a visible expression to the close connection between Porsche DNA and Korean society and culture.”

According to Porsche, the K-Edition arrives with several distinctive features, including:

  • A unique logo based on a historical Korean royal stamp, with “Taycan” written in Korean characters
  • A special skyline graphic incorporating Korean cityscapes, buildings, and landscapes
  • Hand-painted details on the charging port and rear spoiler
  • Interior cross-stitching and a three-color-block design on the seats
  • Five exterior color options from Porsche’s Paint to Sample program

Based on the upgraded 2024 Taycan Turbo, the K-Edition delivers up to 871 horsepower (650 kW) and can accelerate from 0 to 60 mph in 2.7 seconds. While not as powerful as the recently announced Taycan Turbo GT, which delivers over 1,000 horsepower, the K-Edition still offers exceptional performance.

Notably, the launch of this special edition arrives at the moment where Porsche celebrates growing success in the South Korean market. In 2023, the company delivered 10,501 cars to Korean buyers, with the Taycan being the second-best-selling model behind the Cayenne.

Interestingly, Porsche recently announced plans for the future of its Cayenne model as an EV that will be based on a further development of the 800-volt Premium Platform Electric (PPE).

With this limited edition model from Porsche for the South Korean market, it demonstrates the capabilities of its Sonderwunsch customization program, which designed this exclusive EV model with its blend of traditional Korean influences with modern luxury that creates a unique sports EV tailored for Korean buyers.

While Porsche buyers outside of Korea may not have the chance to get their hands on this exclusive model, it serves as an example of Porsche’s strategy to create market-specific editions that resonate with local cultures and preferences.
