Porsche has given a first look at the upcoming Cayenne Electric, and its headline feature is nothing short of radical: the all-new Flow Display. The sweeping curved OLED system blends seamlessly into the dashboard, anchoring Porsche’s next-generation digital cockpit.

Combined with new comfort options and immersive driving features, the Cayenne Electric is positioned to set a new benchmark for premium EV interiors.

Flow Display steals the spotlight

The Flow Display is the centerpiece of Porsche’s new Digital Interaction concept, and it is unlike anything the automaker has shown before. Stretching across the cabin, the curved OLED integrates into the center console, delivering an operating system that feels futuristic yet intuitive, according to a press release.

The 14.25-inch digital instrument cluster offers crisp navigation, power, and driver-assist visuals, while an optional 14.9-inch passenger screen allows app control and video streaming during drives. Porsche also debuts an augmented reality head-up display in the Cayenne EV, projecting navigation arrows and lane guidance directly onto the road with an effective size of 8.7 inches.

“The aim of redesigning the screens’ digital content was to create an even more immersive and intense connection between driver and sports car,” Ivo van Hulten, Director Driver Experience at Style Porsche, said.

Customization turns digital into design

While the Flow Display is the showstopper, Porsche has layered the Cayenne Electric with new levels of personalization and comfort. Electrically adjustable rear seating, surface heating, and “Mood Modes” elevate the cabin experience, while expanded color, material, and accent choices give owners nearly endless ways to configure the SUV.

A new Themes App extends personalization to the digital realm, letting drivers alter the Flow Display and instrument cluster color schemes. In effect, Porsche has transformed the dashboard into a customizable design element as bold as its traditional finishes. And based on initial reviews from avid EV enthusiasts, it appears that the Flow Display’s implementation is actually pretty good.
