Polestar Partners with Zaptec For Premium Home Charging Experience in Europe

Regarding efforts to improve the home charging experience for electric vehicle (EV) owners, Polestar has forged a partnership with Zaptec to introduce the Zaptec Go, which is a premium home charging wallbox solution for select European markets.

As of now, Polestar owners in Sweden, Denmark, the Netherlands, and Norway can now consider the Zaptec Go which also comes with seamless installation and local customer support. In detail, the Zaptec Go provides up to 22 kW charging capacity for Polestar owners according to Polestar.

Moreover, the Zaptec Go also won the Red Dot design award with its sleek and compact size with lightweight design of only just 1.3 kg (2.8 lbs) and understated color schemes. Furthermore, the Zapotec Go wallbox is also ten times faster in terms of charging compared to a standard socket.

Lutz Stiegler, Polestar CTO, expressed enthusiasm for the partnership with Zapotec stating, “The partnership with Zaptec marks an important step in providing our European customers with seamless and effective home charging solutions ahead of the first deliveries of the two electric performance SUVs Polestar 3 and Polestar 4.”

As for CEO of Zaptec Kurt Østrem, he expressed the same level of enthusiasm for the partnership stating, “We’re genuinely proud of this collaboration. Given Zaptec’s high regard for quality and safety, it’s only fitting to partner with those who share and understand our values. Entering into this partnership, we’re embarking on an incredibly exciting journey in Europe, particularly with our vehicle-to-grid technology.”

With Polestar recently breaking past the limits for fast charging its prototype Polestar 5 in 10 minutes with StoreDot’s help, the addition with Zaptec Go will further elevate Polestar’s offering in EV charging especially for home charging. As the company just launched its Polestar 4 in the U.S., Zaptec Go will complement this launch by provision Polestar owners the complete EV experience from driving experience to home charging experience.
