Maserati’s Folgore Day Marks Historic Shift To Only EVs By 2028

Maserati has showcased its electrification plans on its Folgore Day for its 110th anniversary, revealing its future for electric vehicles (EVs) in a new electric era. Held in Rimini, Italy, the company in front of the press and industry insiders displayed its Folgore model range as a signal to take over the EV industry.

Maserati’s EV journey started with the launch of EV models with its GranTurismo Folgore, the Grecale Folgore, and now the GranCabrio Folgore. The GranCabrio Folgore was officially showcased and launched at the event along with the MC20 Folgore super sports EV, which Mawill be launched in 2025.

Moreover, Maserati’s CEO Davide Grassohas announced big plans to be fully electric by 2028 for all its model ranges with all operations continuing in Modena, Italy. With this major shift in Maserati’s lineup, the company is showing its commitment to sustainability and EVs as the automotive industry is experiencing a shift.

Interestingly, Maserati also showcased a fully electric luxury motorboat called TRIDENTE which is also a part of the company’s electrification plan. The electric motorboat is made of carbon fiber in collaboration with Hodgdon Yachts and the design of the electric motorboat was made in collaboration with Vita Power.

Furthermore, Maserati’s Folgore Day also released a campaign that featured Italian musician Damiano David. The campaign video showed and celebrated Maserati’s Italian heritage and spirit as well as presenting a new chapter for the company’s EV future.
