Genesis GV60 Dominates J.D. Power APEAL Study For Second Year In A Row

Genesis Motor North America’s electric vehicle (EV) model, the GV60, has once again secured the top position in the small premium SUV segment of the J.D. Power 2024 U.S. Automotive Performance, Execution and Layout (APEAL) Study. 

The APEAL Study, which evaluates new vehicle owners’ experiences after 90 days of ownership, saw the GV60 excel in six key categories: powertrain, driving comfort, interior, driving feel, getting in and out, and setting up and starting. This comprehensive performance underscores the EV’s all-around appeal to buyers. Notably, this win for the Genesis GV60 marks the second year in a row that the model has claimed this title.

Claudia Marquez, chief operating officer of Genesis Motor North America, expressed enthusiasm in the achievement stating, “At Genesis, we design our products with the customer top of mind. The J.D. Power APEAL Study is a strong indicator of buyer satisfaction, examining various aspects including design, performance, safety, usability, and comfort. The GV60’s repeated success in this study suggests that Genesis has successfully aligned its product with customer preferences and expectations in the EV market.

Introduced in 2022 as Genesis’ first dedicated EV model, the GV60 represents the company’s design philosophy of “Athletic Elegance” and “Beauty of White Space.” Its exterior comes in a distinctive athletic look, while the interior draws inspiration from classic Korean architecture. The spacious cabin includes upcycled materials and comes withcutting-edge safety and technology features. One of the standout aspects of the GV60 is its incorporation of world-first technologies, where features such as Face Connect and Crystal Sphere allow drivers to personalize their driving experience. 

This accolade comes at a time when Genesis is expanding its EV lineup with models like the Electrified G80 and Electrified GV70 joining the GV60. The company also recently showcased its Magma Concept in a debut at the Goodwood Festival of Speed, where visitors saw its bold debut.
