Dacia has launched a game-changing promotion for its Spring supermini electric vehicle (EV) in the United Kingdom (UK). The new limited-time “Electric Boost” offer makes the already affordable Spring even more accessible to British buyers.
According to Dacia, the “Electric Boost” offer provides up to £500 (around $656) discount for both finance and cash buyers, reducing the starting price to a mere £14,495 (around $19,027) for outright purchases. For those opting for finance, monthly payments can be as low as £158 (around $207) on a 3.9% APR, four-year Personal Contract Purchase (PCP) deal.
Moreover, the offer presents three main options: the Expression 45 model at £158 (around $207) per month, the Expression 65 model at £168 (around $220) per month, and the Extreme 65 model at £178 (around $233) per month, all based on the four-year PCP deal.
Luke Broad, Dacia Brand Director for the UK, emphasized the company’s commitment to making EVs more accessible stating, “Our ‘Electric Boost’ offer is designed to make the transition to electric vehicles as seamless and affordable as possible for UK consumers.”
The Dacia Spring comes in two trim levels, which are the Expression and Extreme. It also offers a choice between 45 horsepower and 65 horsepower electric motors. It delivers an estimated range of up to 140 miles (WLTP mixed) or 186 miles (WLTP urban).
With capabilities of charging from 20% to 100% in just 4 hours using a 7kW charger, standard equipment includes a 7-inch digital instrument cluster, cruise control, and rear parking sensors. The Extreme trim adds features like a 10-inch multimedia system, wireless Apple CarPlay or Android Auto, and a bi-directional charger.
Despite its compact size, the Spring doesn’t compromise on practicality. It offers impressive storage capabilities, with up to 1,004 liters of cargo space with the rear seats folded, rivaling EVs in higher segments.
Notably, to further ease the transition to electric, Dacia has partnered with Mobilize Power Solutions to offer home charging options. Buyers can add the cost of a home charger to their monthly payments for under £20 (around $26) per month.
The introduction of the ‘Electric Boost’ offer could have a significant impact on the UK’s EV market. By lowering the entry barrier to EV ownership, Dacia is positioning the Spring as a gateway EV for many first-time EV buyers. The ‘Electric Boost’ offer ends on September 30 and deliveries start in October.
