Geely Auto, which entered Britain with the EX5 electric SUV, has recorded 15,264 vehicle registrations in the UK during its first year in the market, as the Chinese automaker builds its retail network and prepares to expand its lineup.
The company, which launched in Britain on October 23, 2025, now has 80 operational retail locations and 92 employees.
Geely Auto UK marked its first anniversary with a review of its progress since entering the market. The company said September was its strongest month so far, with 5,155 registrations, and that it remains on track to reach 20,000 registrations in 2026.
Managing Director Michael Yang said the business had built its team, retail network and customer base within 12 months, and the company has opened a new headquarters at Ansty Business Park in Coventry. Its UK lineup now counts three new-energy models, starting with the EX5 in October 2025, with another three expected in 2027, according to a Geely Auto UK press release.
Geely has also signed the contract for its 100th retail location, moving toward its target of 100 sites by the end of 2026. Longer term, it plans to establish between 130 and 140 dealerships across the UK. The company says its priority is not simply to increase the number of outlets, but to support the performance and profitability of each site.
Yang said the company wants to build a lasting business in the UK rather than focus only on selling vehicles. Its strategy centers on new-energy powertrains, technology, vehicle specification and value, alongside customer experience and investment in staff and retail partners.

The new Coventry headquarters brings together teams covering sales, marketing, aftersales, product, network development, legal, IT, customer experience and retail operations. Geely says the facility provides a permanent base for its growing UK business.
The company has also established partnerships with Team England and Coventry City Football Club, and it has secured large-scale fleet deals with Tusker and Octopus. According to Geely, those sponsorships have put the brand in front of new audiences and backed sport and community activity.
Geely’s next target is 45,000 UK registrations in 2027, more than double its stated 2026 target. Yang said the company intends to expand while supporting customers and retail partners and continuing to invest in the UK.
The anniversary announcement comes as Geely continues to build its local operation, with additional models planned and a larger dealership network in development. The company says it views its first year as the beginning of a longer-term commitment to the British market.
