While it brings solid range and acceleration, its sheer size and weight remain its defining characteristics.

Chevrolet’s Silverado EV lineup is expanding with the addition of the LT trim, a more affordable alternative to the nearly $100K RST version that debuted in 2024. Priced from $75,195, the 2025 Silverado EV LT delivers the same massive presence and electric grunt as its premium sibling, but in a more accessible package.
With a curb weight of 8,486 pounds, the Silverado EV LT is heavier than some heavy-duty diesel pickups. Despite that, it manages a 0–60 mph sprint in just 4.2 seconds when using Wide Open Watts (WOW) mode, thanks to 645 horsepower and 765 lb-ft of torque. The ride, however, includes noticeable pitch and electronic cabin noise, and the truck’s handling leans toward understeer, according to Car and Driver.
Rear-wheel steering earns high marks, improving the maneuverability of the Silverado EV LT despite its massive size. Regenerative braking is smooth and highly intuitive, blending seamlessly with friction brakes. In testing, the LT managed a 70–0 mph stop in 196 feet, which is impressive considering its mass. Unfortunately, the truck’s energy efficiency suffers, and even with a peak 300-kW charging rate, owners may find themselves at public chargers more often than expected.

Fitted with the Extended Range 170-kWh battery, the Silverado EV LT achieved 310 miles in real-world highway testing, falling short of its EPA estimate of 390 miles. Models with standard 18-inch tires are rated for up to 408 miles, while those seeking even more can move to trims offering the Max Range 205-kWh pack, with estimates above 450 miles.
Super Cruise is available and widely praised, though it requires a $25 monthly fee after three years. GM has also removed Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, requiring drivers to manage in-car apps via in-dash logins. While the familiar Avalanche-inspired styling and midgate design offer utility, Silverado EV sales still lag behind the GMC Hummer EV. Whether buyers warm up to this electrified heavyweight may come down to how much they value raw capability over daily usability.
