The Audi Q4 40 E-Tron Variant Features A 63 KWh Battery, 423 Km Range, 24-Minute Fast Charging, And AI Integration, Starting At €46,150

Audi has announced a noteworthy enhancement to its electric vehicle (EV) portfolio with the introduction of a new entry-level variant of the Q4 e-tron, featuring improved range capabilities and advanced charging technology.

The new Q4 40 e-tron variant, available for ordering in mid-February with a starting price of €46,150 (around $47,816), introduces a larger 63 kWh battery (59 kWh net capacity) that substantially extends the vehicle’s range. The SUV variant can travel up to 412 km (around 256 miles) on a single charge, while the Sportback version, priced from €48,150 (around $49,888), achieves an even more impressive range of 423 km (around 262 miles).
As for performance, the Q4 40 e-tron maintains Audi’s reputation for dynamic driving capabilities. The vehicle accelerates from 0 to 100 km/h in 8.1 seconds, with a top speed of 160 km/h. Power comes from a permanently excited synchronous motor (PSM) mounted on the rear axle, delivering 150 kW (204 horsepower) with high efficiency. The vehicle also offers practical utility with a towing capacity of 1,000 kg at a twelve percent incline, extending to 1,200 kg at an eight percent grade.
A notable advancement in charging technology allows the battery to charge from 10% to 80% in just 24 minutes when connected to a fast-charging station, with the ability to add up to 150 km of range (155 km for the Sportback) in merely 10 minutes. The maximum DC charging power of 165 kW ensures minimal downtime during longer journeys. To optimize charging efficiency, Audi has introduced manual battery preconditioning, allowing drivers to prepare their battery for optimal charging performance through the MMI interface.

Moreover, the Q4 40 e-tron comes equipped with the Audi application store, providing access to various apps through the MMI system. A complimentary one-year 25 GB data package through Cubic Telecom enables seamless connectivity. The integration of ChatGPT, powered by Azure OpenAI Service and utilizing Cerence Inc.’s Chat Pro solution, enhances the voice control system, allowing natural language interaction with the vehicle’s infotainment, navigation, and climate control systems.
Furthermore, the standard equipment package reinforces the premium positioning of the vehicle, including Audi MMI navigation plus, Audi Connect navigation & infotainment, and a 10.25-inch fully digital Audi virtual cockpit instrument cluster. Practical features such as an electric luggage compartment lid with optional foot gesture control and heated front seats are also included as standard.

Maintenance management has also been simplified with the introduction of a predictive maintenance reminder system accessible through the myAudi app. This feature provides color-coded status indicators for various vehicle components, including brake pads, the 12-volt battery, and first-aid kit contents, streamlining the maintenance process by automatically connecting customers with their preferred dealers when service is needed.
This new entry-level Q4 e-tron variant designates Audi’s response to the growing demand for accessible premium EVs, combining extended range capabilities with advanced technology and practical features while maintaining competitive pricing in the premium electric SUV segment.
