Airbnb Join Forces With ChargePoint To Streamline EV Charging Amenities In Its Listings

In the United States (U.S.), ChargePoint joined Airbnb in a partnership to improve the charging experience for guests staying in Airbnb accommodations. With this partnership, the installation of EV chargers in Airbnb listings will be able to cater to and expand accessibility for EV owners. 

ChargePoint Will now assist Airbnb hosts in purchasing and installing EV charging systems through a designated platform that includes hardware, software, installation, and support services. As a result, Airbnb guests will have access to ChargePoint chargers and also access to over 917,000 ChargePoint networks in U.S. locations during their stay. 

In reflection of this partnership, EV adoption rates have increased exponentially with both companies addressing the acceleration through this collaboration as EV charging is a sought-after amenity for Airbnb guests. Furthermore, Airbnb has revealed data that listings with EV chargers available attract more bookings while generating higher income in contrast to those without. As a result, the initiatives to streamline EV chargers on these listings from this partnership will benefit both hosts and guests. 

Ameet Konkar, Airbnb’s Director of Sustainability, expressed the significance of this partnership with ChargePoint stating, “We are thrilled to collaborate with ChargePoint to meet the increasing demand for EV chargers from Airbnb guests. By making it more affordable for hosts to install EV chargers, we are empowering them to embrace sustainable practices and cater to guests seeking this amenity.”

By leveraging ChargePoint’s charging infrastructure expertise and Airbnb’s massive accommodations network, this partnership will make EV charging easier and overall appealing in accommodation listings. By growing accessibility in EV charging for EV owners, ChargePoint and Airbnb will answer to the charging needs of travelers while accelerating EV adoption along with contributing to the expansion of EV charging infrastructure.
