ZEEKR Officially Launches MIX Electric MPV In China Starting At RMB 279,000

ZEEKR has officially launched its groundbreaking MIX electric vehicle (EV) in China, introducing a family-focused multipurpose vehicle (MPV) that challenges conventional automotive design with innovative features and competitive pricing starting at RMB 279,900 (around $39,280).

According to ZEEKR, the most striking feature of the new MIX is its industry-first double B-pillar sliding door system, which creates a massive 1.48-meter-wide entrance on the passenger side. Despite eliminating traditional B-pillars, ZEEKR employs an advanced hidden dual B-pillar design using 2,000 megapascals hot-formed steel that provides 30% more strength than conventional materials. 

As a result, this engineering prowess was demonstrated during crash tests, where the MIX withstood both a 60 km/h side collision and a 2.2-ton container drop on its roof without structural deformation.

The ZEEKR MIX offers two battery options: a 76 kWh lithium-iron-phosphate (LFP) battery delivering 550 km (342 miles) of range, and a larger 102 kWh nickel manganese cobalt (NMC) pack capable of over 700 km (435 miles) on the CLTC cycle. The LFP variant showcases ZEEKR’s advanced charging technology, featuring 5.5C ultra-fast charging that can boost the battery from 10% to 80% in just 10.5 minutes.

In terms of performance specs, the ZEEKR MIX’s rear-mounted electric motor produces 310 kW (415 hp), enabling a 0 to 100 km/h time of 6.8 seconds. The EV also contains exceptional maneuverability with front wheels that can turn more than 50 degrees, resulting in a compact 4.95-meter turning radius.

As for the interior features, the ZEEKR MIX possesses 270-degree swivel front seats and a movable center tunnel with a built-in refrigerator, enabling what ZEEKR calls “9+N cabin scenario modes.”

Moreover, the spacious interior can be transformed into various configurations, from a lounge to a dining room, and even a fishing hub. With an in-cabin height of 1,350mm and a low floor height of 390mm, the MIX achieves an impressive 93% space utilization rate – significantly higher than the typical 70% found in SUVs.

Built on Geely’s SEA-M architecture, the MIX comes equipped with advanced technology including a LiDAR sensor, supporting ZEEKR’s Haohan 2.0 driving assist system for autonomous operation on highways and urban roads. The interior features an augmented reality head-up display and voice control capabilities accessible from anywhere in the cabin.

Furthermore, deliveries of the ZEEKR MIX are scheduled to start in China on October 24, 2024, with early buyers eligible for purchase benefits worth up to RMB 43,000 (around $6,000) if ordered before November 30. The higher-range 102 kWh variant is priced at RMB 299,900 ($42,100).
