Zeekr has opened pre-sales for a new five-seat version of its flagship 9X SUV, expanding the appeal of its premium hybrid as competition intensifies in China’s luxury SUV market.
The new variant joins the existing six-seat configuration and arrives as rival Nio prepares to launch a five-seat version of its flagship ES8.
Zeekr announced the start of pre-sales through its official social media channels, though pricing for the new five-seat model has not yet been disclosed.
Customers who reserve the vehicle can receive limited-time incentives worth up to 90,000 yuan (about $13,230), including a complimentary Naim premium audio system and electric running boards. Buyers who place a 5,000-yuan deposit will also receive a 10,000-yuan credit toward the final purchase price, according to CNEV Post.
The addition of a five-seat layout gives buyers another option alongside the existing six-seat configuration, allowing Zeekr to target customers who prioritize cargo space and rear-seat flexibility.
The timing mirrors a broader trend among premium Chinese automakers. Nio has also opened reservations for a five-seat version of its flagship ES8 SUV, with its official launch scheduled for July 9.

The Zeekr 9X debuted in September 2025 with a starting price of 465,900 yuan, becoming the brand’s first hybrid vehicle.
Built on the hybrid version of Geely’s Sustainable Experience Architecture (SEA-S), the luxury SUV features a 900-volt hybrid electrical system. High-end variants are equipped with a tri-motor powertrain producing up to 1,030 kW (1,381 horsepower), enabling a 0-100 km/h sprint in just 3.1 seconds.
The model has become one of Zeekr’s most successful products, with cumulative deliveries exceeding 60,000 units. According to the company, it has led China’s large SUV segment priced above 500,000 yuan for seven consecutive months.
The 9X also contributed to Zeekr’s record growth in June, when the brand delivered 35,169 vehicles, more than doubling deliveries from a year earlier. During the first half of 2026, Zeekr delivered 178,370 vehicles, representing a 96.6% year-over-year increase.
Looking ahead, Zeekr plans to begin exporting the 9X to international markets during the third quarter as it expands its presence beyond China.
