XPeng P7+ Debuts With Hawkeye Vision, 710 KM Of Range, And A High-Tech Interior

XPeng has officially launched its P7+ electric vehicle (EV), marking a significant milestone as the world’s first “AI-defined vehicle.” The sleek new model debuts with a starting price of RMB 186,800 ($26,150), lower than initial pre-order prices announced last month.

According to XPeng, the P7+ represents a technological leap forward for XPeng, featuring the company’s new “Hawkeye Vision” system, which notably abandons traditional LiDAR sensors in favor of pure vision cameras. The vehicle’s advanced driver assistance system (ADAS) comes equipped with XPeng’s in-house XOS 5.4 software platform, delivering impressive improvements including a 53% increase in lane-change success and a 155% enhancement in detour handling during autonomous driving.
“In traditional cars, being premium has often been defined by design and features, but in the era of AI-defined vehicles, true premium quality is inseparable from intelligent technology,” said He Xiaopeng, XPENG Chairman and CEO.

The new model offers notable range capabilities across its variants. The entry-level version, equipped with a 60.7 kWh lithium iron phosphate (LFP) battery, provides a CLTC range of 602 km (374 miles), which can be extended to 615 km (382 miles) through an upcoming over-the-air update. Higher-end variants featuring a 76.3 kWh pack can achieve up to 710 km (441 miles) of range.

Inside the cabin, the P7+ showcases XPeng’s commitment to advanced technology with a proprietary X-GPT model powered by a Qualcomm 8295P chip, offering 50% better performance than its predecessor. The interior features a 15.6-inch central control screen, a 10.25-inch digital instrument display, and an 8-inch rear entertainment screen.
The vehicle also boasts practical features, including what XPeng claims is the “world’s thinnest” LFP battery pack at 109mm, enabling generous passenger headroom of 973mm. The hatchback design provides substantial cargo capacity of 725 liters with folded rear seats, capable of accommodating 33 carry-on suitcases, plus additional storage in the front trunk.

XPeng will offer the P7+ in three variants: the entry-level model at RMB 186,800 ($26,150), a standard variant with the larger battery pack at RMB 198,800 ($27,840), and a limited edition model priced at RMB 218,800 ($30,640), of which only 500 units will be produced. Deliveries are scheduled to begin in China later this month.
With the launch of the P7+ follows XPeng’s recent AI Day event, this further cements the company’s position as a leader in AI-driven mobility technology as well as the electric mobility space.
