Xpeng P7 Sets New Endurance Run Record

An Xpeng P7 set a new record during an endurance run, highlighting the Chinese EV’s battery efficiency and speed. The Chinese automaker announced on Weibo that its new P7 electric sedan set a benchmark in long-distance EV performance.

The Xpeng P7 in question completed 3,961 km (2461 miles) in just 24 hours during an endurance test in Changchun, Jilin province. The new record was verified by third-party testers. The endurance run highlighted the sedan’s efficiency and durability, though an earlier attempt was halted due to severe rain and track flooding that forced a temporary suspension.

Endurance run highlights performance and efficiency

“According to third-party testing, the all-new Xpeng P7 completed a total mileage of 3,961 km in the “24-hour endurance test,” setting a new 24-hour distance record for a pure electric vehicle!” the company said.

The P7’s record-setting drive included multiple fast-charging sessions, during which the 800-volt battery system demonstrated consistent thermal stability and low energy consumption. Engineers credited the car’s aerodynamic design for maximizing efficiency across the 24-hour run. At peak, the sedan reached speeds exceeding 210 km/h on the track, reinforcing its dual focus on speed and long-range endurance.

Xpeng P 7 Wing Edition expands lineup

The Xpeng P7 is expected to help the Chinese automaker break into the premium large electric sedan market. According to The Drive, Xpeng received over 10,000 P7 preorders within seven minutes of the electric sedan going on sale, hinting at strong demand for this vehicle. Xpeng will likely continue the P7’s momentum with its next variant.

Earlier this month, Xpeng unveiled the P7 Wing Edition. The visually distinct Xpeng P7 Wing Edition variant features scissor doors, an exclusive matte silver finish, and 21-inch forged wheels. The P7 Wing Edition’s interior introduces an “Orange Radiance” color scheme, sport seats, and darkened illuminated sills. Pre-orders for the new model have already opened, with its official market launch expected this month.
