Unplugged Performance has debuted the nation’s first Tesla Model S Plaid electric vehicle (EV) designed for law enforcement applications. The “UP.FIT Tesla Model S Plaid Pursuit” was unveiled at the 2024 SEMA Show, showcasing the potential of high-performance EVs in public service roles.

Built on the powerful Tesla Model S Plaid platform, which delivers over 1,000 horsepower and a blistering 0 to 60 mph time of just 1.99 seconds, the UP.FIT Plaid Pursuit has been meticulously engineered to meet the demanding needs of law enforcement. Through its UP.FIT division, Unplugged Performance has transformed the standard Plaid into a specialized patrol vehicle packed with advanced features.

Key modifications include a proprietary electrical wiring harness, forward- and rear-facing warning lights seamlessly integrated into the front and rear glass for improved aerodynamics, and side skirt lighting. The EV also contains a push-bumper with additional warning lights, as well as integrated high- and low-frequency sirens that comply with California Title 13 regulations.

Performance upgrades by Unplugged Performance further enhance the Plaid Pursuit’s capabilities, with enhanced braking components and lightweight forged wheels for superior handling and durability during high-speed pursuits. Despite these modifications, the EV maintains its impressive 345-mile range, making it a sustainable and efficient alternative to traditional patrol cars.

The debut EV will be delivered to the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department for use in their Motorsports community outreach program, marking a significant step in the adoption of EVs for public service roles.
