Toyota Yaris Ativ HEV debuts with 29.4 km/l efficiency

Toyota introduced the Yaris Ativ HEV in Thailand, adding hybrid power to the B-segment sedan also known as the Vios.

The Toyota Yaris Ativ HEV is powered by a 1.5-liter petrol-electric system. The hybrid vehicle delivers a combined 111 PS via an electric motor and a naturally aspirated four-cylinder engine. Toyota’s new hybrid is offered in two trims: The Yaris Ativ HEV Premium and GR Sport, priced at 719,000 baht and 769,000 baht, respectively.

Toyota claims the Yaris Ativ HEV achieves a best-in-class fuel economy of 29.4 km/l in Premium trim. The Yaris Ativ HEV Premium is supported by three drive modes: Eco, Normal, and Power. The car features a dark chrome upper grille, 16-inch alloy wheels, and a refined cabin with synthetic leather upholstery.

Inside, Toyota’s hybrid vehicle features a 10.1-inch touchscreen with wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, wireless charging, automatic air conditioning with rear vents, and 64-color ambient lighting. In addition, the Yaris Ativ HEV’s safety is enhanced with Toyota Safety Sense, adaptive cruise control, blind spot monitoring, rear cross-traffic alert, and six airbags.

The Yaris Ativ HEV GR Sport trim distinguishes itself with a unique front grille, body kit, 17-inch alloy wheels, and a black roof finish. The new hybrid’s suspension tuning, stabilizer bars, and retuned electric steering aim to improve handling.

As for its interior, the Yaris Ativ HEV’s GR branding adds black synthetic leather seating and a Pioneer six-speaker audio system. Both trims include advanced driver assistance, parking sensors, and panoramic monitoring. The Yaris Ativ HEV launch underscores Toyota’s push to expand hybrid options in Southeast Asia’s competitive compact sedan market. The Philippines and Malaysia are already expecting the Yaris Ativ HEV otherwise known as the Vios.
