Stellantis CEO Carlos Tavares Stated About The $25,000 Jeep EV For The U.S. During A Bernstein Investor Conference In New York

Stellantis is preparing to launch an affordable Jeep electric vehicle (EV) model that will be priced at $25,000 in the United States (U.S.) market. The affordable $25,000 Jeep EV model will arrive “very soon” according to CEO Carlos Tavares.
Tavares had revealed details about the upcoming $25,000 Jeep EV model during a Bernstein investor conference in New York according to The Wall Street Journal. Yet, he has emphasized that the model will be aimed at affordability to mirror Stellantis’ pricing strategy for its Citroen e-C3 SUV in Europe, which has a starting price of 20,000 euros.
Furthermore, Tavares expressed his perspective when asked regarding affordability applied to battery EVs (BEVs) stating, “If you ask me what is an affordable BEV, I would say 20,000 euros in Europe and $25,000 in the US,” which reflects his reasoning behind the specific price point for the upcoming Jeep EV model.
Interestingly, the importance of offering affordable EVs has become increasingly prioritized as Chinese EVs have taken over with renowned brands including BYD with its Seagull model that only costs $11,400. Moreover, Stellantis has teamed up with Leapmotor to bring Chinese EVs into the European market through ‘Leapmotor International,’ which makes the company headstrong in its EV plans in order. Notably, Jeep’s anticipated Wagoneer S SUV is set to launch later this year and will aim to compete with the Tesla Model Y, further expanding Stellantis’ electric vehicle offerings.
As Stellantis is leveraging the affordability aspect that Chinese EVs have with its upcoming $25,000 Jeep EV model, the company will be tapping into mainstream buyer demand and accelerating EV adoption while continuously appealing to the EV market.
