The new vehicles boast 1,025 horsepower and 1,198 lb-ft of torque.

Rivian has officially unveiled the 2026 R1T and R1S Launch Edition models equipped with its new Gen 2 Quad-Motor powertrain. Boasting 1,025 horsepower and 1,198 lb-ft of torque, the refreshed models sprint from 0–60 mph in just 2.5 seconds with Launch Mode. Deliveries of these upgraded vehicles begin in July, with prices starting at $120,000 for the R1T and $126,000 for the R1S.
The Gen 2 Quad-Motor system delivers power through four independently controlled motors, allowing for true torque vectoring. A new rear motor disconnect feature in Conserve mode increases efficiency, enabling up to 400 miles of range. Oil-cooling keeps the motors stable during high-torque, off-road driving.
New software features include Launch Cam for capturing acceleration runs, a customizable RAD Tuner with performance sliders, and two motorsport-inspired drive modes: Desert Rally and Hill Climb. Rivian also teased “Kick Turn,” a maneuvering aid that adjusts power to individual wheels for tighter turning that is expected to arrive in a September update.
The 2026 Quad-Motor R1 lineup debuts the premium “Ascend” interior featuring quilted seats, detailed stitching, and sustainable wood accents in three new nature-inspired themes. Exterior changes are subtle but include Laguna Beach Blue badging and new 20″ and 22″ wheel options.
All 2026 R1 vehicles now come with a North American Charging Standard (NACS) port and a complimentary CCS adapter, ensuring broad fast-charging access. The Launch Edition adds special colors, exclusive badging, a Gen 2 key fob, lifetime access to Autonomy Platform+ and Connect+, a Camp Speaker, and a Welcome Kit.
