Rimac Nevera R Breaks 24 Records and Reclaims 0–400–0 Title

The Rimac Nevera R has officially claimed the title of the world’s fastest accelerating production car, establishing new world records in 24 categories. Most notably, it completed the 0–400–0 km/h run in just 25.79 seconds, more than four seconds quicker than its predecessor and reclaiming a title it once held.

Next-gen hardware drives a major leap in performance

The Nevera R builds on the original Nevera’s groundbreaking platform, but nearly every performance metric has been improved. The 2,107-horsepower quad-motor hypercar achieved a new 0–60 mph time of 1.66 seconds and topped out at 268.2 mph, setting a new electric vehicle top speed benchmark. 

Key updates include enhanced aerodynamics, a fixed rear wing, an enlarged diffuser, and a revised torque vectoring system that delivers 100 real-time power adjustments per second. Michelin Cup 2 tires and recalibrated all-wheel torque control helped the Nevera R shave significant time off key acceleration marks, including a 1.33-second improvement in the 0–300 km/h sprint and a 5.21-second gain in the 0–250–0 mph run.

Beyond headline speed, Rimac’s upgrades focus on control, usability, and sustained performance. Despite its brutal acceleration, the Nevera R retains much of the comfort and drivability of the original, proving that record-breaking capability doesn’t require sacrificing everyday usability. 

Founder Mate Rimac shared a statement about the Never R’s achievements in a press release. 

“When we first introduced Nevera it almost seemed like the pinnacle of hypercar performance had been reached. In a single generation, we had created a performance jump that previously would have taken decades. But now, through relentless innovation, Nevera R goes even faster, while still maintaining much of the comfort and practicality that makes the Nevera a real, usable daily car. Breaking records is in our DNA, and we won’t stop here,” he said.
