As the European electric vehicle (EV) market continues to rise, Lucid is achieving major traction in Germany’s competitive luxury automotive market, recording 129 new vehicle registrations in October.
Based from date by the Federal Motor Transport Authority (KBA), this marks the second consecutive month of record registrations for the Lucid in Europe’s largest auto market.
The October figures represent a substantial increase from September’s 41 registrations and surpass Lucid’s entire Q3 performance of 62 vehicles. Through the first ten months of 2024, Lucid has registered 256 units in Germany, showing a remarkable 240% increase compared to the same period in 2023.
The company’s growth comes despite a broader slowdown in Germany’s EV market, where overall electric vehicle registrations declined 4.9% year-over-year to 35,491 units in October, representing 15.3% of the market share.
Lucid’s expansion in Germany has been marked by strategic moves, including the recent opening of a new studio in Hamburg, bringing its total to four showrooms in Germany and eight across Europe. The company also entered into a partnership with German rental firm SIXT, making its luxury Air sedan available for rental starting at €999 (around $1,090) per month on a 360-day contract.
The Lucid Air lineup in Germany includes the Pure model, starting at €85,000 (around $92,890) with a WLTP range of up to 747 km (around 464 miles), while the Touring and Grand Touring variants are priced at €99,000 (around $108,200) and €129,000 (around $140,990) respectively. Beyond Germany, Lucid’s European presence extends to Switzerland, Norway, and the Netherlands, with mobile service coverage in 15 European markets.
In the United States (U.S.), the company saw a 14.1% sequential increase in October sales to 670 units. In addition, Lucid is preparing to launch its first electric SUV, the Gravity. The Lucid Gravity arrives with up to 440 miles of range with the Touring trim starting at $79,900 and the Grand Touring trim, priced from $94,900.
As the company is prepared to make more strategic moves in the U.S. and the European market, the company is scheduled to report its Q3 2024 earnings results on November 7 as it continues to elevate its position among competitors in the EV industry.
