Lucid Motors has secured another major achievement in the EV world, officially earning a Guinness World Records title for the longest distance traveled by an electric car on a single charge. The Lucid Air Grand Touring drove 1,205 kilometers (749 miles) from St. Moritz, Switzerland to Munich, Germany without stopping to recharge, shattering the previous record by 160 kilometers.

Advanced powertrain sets Lucid apart from rivals

The record-breaking journey put Lucid’s proprietary powertrain technology on full display, navigating through alpine roads, highways, and secondary routes, according to Lucid in a press release

With a WLTP range of 960 kilometers and an ultra-efficient consumption rate of 13.5 kWh/100km, the Lucid Air Grand Touring outpaces all other EVs in its class. It produces 831 PS, reaches a top speed of 270 km/h, and gains 400 kilometers of range in just 16 minutes using ultra-fast charging.

Lucid’s Senior Vice President of Product and Chief Engineer, Eric Bach, said the achievement underscores the company’s technical superiority. “This range record represents a significant milestone – it’s yet another clear demonstration of the technological edge that defines Lucid.”

Record backed by seasoned EV adventurer

This marks the second major record Lucid has achieved in partnership with London-based entrepreneur Umit Sabanci. In 2024, Sabanci and a Lucid Air Grand Touring crossed nine countries on a single charge, setting a record for the most countries visited without recharging.

“I’m proud to be part of a movement that proves electric mobility isn’t just the future; it’s already redefining what’s possible today,” said Sabanci.

Lucid’s latest feat builds on its brand identity as the EV efficiency leader, providing a compelling demonstration of what is achievable with next-generation engineering and battery technology.
