The Kia EV3, a compact electric SUV, has rapidly established itself as a frontrunner in the electric vehicle (EV) industry, securing multiple prestigious awards and gaining recognition across Europe.

The EV3 has been shortlisted for the 2025 Car of the Year award, selected from an initial pool of 42 models by 60 jurors representing 23 countries. This marks the fourth consecutive year a Kia EV has been nominated, following the EV6’s victory in 2022.
The EV3 has already clinched several significant accolades:

The EV3 stands out with its segment-leading range of up to 605 km (375 miles) (WLTP) and rapid charging capabilities. It can charge from 10% to 80% in just 29 minutes and add up to 202 km (around 125 miles) of range in merely 15 minutes.
Karim Habib, Executive Vice President and Head of Kia Global Design, emphasized the vehicle’s unique combination of design, usability, and technology, positioning it as a breakthrough in sustainable mobility.

Built on Kia’s “Opposites United” design philosophy, the EV3 features a 2.68-meter wheelbase and 4.30-meter length, offering a spacious 460-liter boot and a 25-liter frunk. The vehicle also demonstrates Kia’s commitment to sustainability, incorporating a trunk liner made from 40% recycled ocean plastic.

Priced starting at 270,000 Danish Kroner (around $38,250), the EV3 is positioned as an accessible EV for a broad market. Søren W. Rasmussen from the Association of Danish Motorists praised its affordability and comprehensive features.
Kia plans to expand the EV3 lineup with all-wheel drive and GT models, further solidifying its position in the EV market. The vehicle is part of Kia’s ambitious ‘Plan S’ strategy, which aims to launch 15 EVs worldwide by 2027. For the United States (U.S.), market, the EV3 could be bound to arrive as hinted by Kia America chief operating officer and executive vice president Steven Center.

Furthermore, the Car of the Year title will be officially conferred at the Brussels Motor Show on January 10, 2025, where the EV3 will compete against six other finalists. With its impressive performance, design, and sustainability credentials, the Kia EV3 is clearly setting new standards in the electric compact SUV segment.
