Gravity Launches EV Charging “Trees” With Up To 500kW For Urban Cities

New York-based startup Gravity has presented a new on-street charging system called “DEAP Trees,” made for electric vehicle (EV) charging compatibility with its 200kW and 500kW Distributed Energy Access Points (DEAPs). The DEAP Tress was made in collaboration with Rangr Studio.

The DEAP Tress is an innovative EV charging technology designed to streamline curbside EV charging with fast charging speeds, improved safety features, and efficient space utilization in mind. Catered to a diverse group of EV owners, the DEAP Tress provides an optimal user-friendly experience while minimizing trip hazards and optimizing parking space turnover. 

Moreover, DEAP Trees have no need for utility upgrades regarding installation. As a result, it makes them a cost-effective and hassle-free EV charging solution that is also accessible in the city streets, which also aligns with Gravity’s plan for sustainable mobility solutions in urban communities with the promotion of EV adoption on its horizon. 

In terms of charging specs, the DEAP Trees can deliver charging speeds up to 200 miles of range in merely 5 minutes with the 500kW DEAPs. In comparison, it far exceeds typical Level 2 chargers, making them more practical and efficient for urban environments. Furthermore, the DEAP Tress will possess several enhanced features including traffic safety cameras, 5G, public Wi-Fi, air quality sensors, integrated audio and video for public communication, and colored LED street and curbside lighting as well. 

Founder and CEO of Gravity Moshe Cohen expressed enthusiasm on the DEAP Trees positively influencing urban environments stating, “We took up the challenge of making every aspect of the on-street charging experience faster and better and can’t wait to deploy our new DEAP Trees by the thousands.
