General Motors has released a sweeping software update for its Chevy Silverado EV and GMC Sierra EV trucks, introducing new features, infotainment apps, and interface changes.
The update, identified as version 86277880 with build number SQBR6, applies to 2024–2025 model years, with the 2026 pickups shipping with the new system pre-installed.
The update enhances everyday usability with several vehicle-wide improvements. Among the most notable additions are Turn Signal Activated View, which brings up camera feeds on the central display, and new trailer camera functions with length detection overlays for safer towing, according to GM Authority.
GM also added Hands-Free Lane Keep Assist and Boat Ramp Assist, which are designed to simplify specific driving and trailering tasks. Updates extend to the Head-Up Display and instrument panel layouts, including a new minimalist design.

Owners will also gain access to fresh infotainment options, with a lineup of video streaming apps like Prime Video, HBO Max, and YouTube, alongside casual games under a new “Pass Time While Parked” section of the Play Store.
Smaller refinements include revised seat climate controls and a dedicated Settings shortcut on the infotainment screen. The update is dealer-installed rather than over-the-air, with installation taking several hours. GM has confirmed the latest 2026 Silverado EV and Sierra EV already run the new software from the factory.
