A new Customer Satisfaction Program, issued on October 26, covers 66 vehicles across the United States, including select Equinox EV, Blazer EV, Silverado EV and BrightDrop models.

General Motors is requiring a second high-voltage battery replacement for a small number of Chevrolet electric vehicles and BrightDrop commercial vans after replacement battery packs were found to contain modules that should not have been reused.
A new Customer Satisfaction Program, issued on October 26, covers 66 vehicles across the United States, including select Equinox EV, Blazer EV, Silverado EV and BrightDrop models.
The issue involves certain remanufactured high-voltage battery assemblies installed in vehicles that had already undergone a battery replacement. According to GM Customer Satisfaction Program N262565450, those assemblies included battery modules that were not eligible for reuse, meaning another battery replacement may be necessary.
The program applies to certain 2025 Chevrolet Equinox EVs, 2024 and 2025 Blazer EVs, and 2024 and 2025 Silverado EVs, as well as selected 2023 BrightDrop 600 and 2025 BrightDrop 400 vans. GM puts the total at 66 US vehicles across all included models but has not said how many are Chevrolets, according to GM Authority.
Under the program, dealers will swap out the complete high-voltage battery assembly, using either a new or a remanufactured pack based on the vehicle, its battery requirements and which parts are available. The work must be carried out by a properly trained technician at an authorized GM EV dealership.

GM says affected owners will not be charged for the replacement, regardless of the vehicle’s mileage, age or ownership status. The program is scheduled to remain active through November 30, 2028.
The automaker will contact affected owners by mail and recommends that they arrange an appointment with an EV-certified dealership. Anyone who already paid out of pocket to fix the same problem may be eligible to get that money back.
Beyond the Chevrolet and BrightDrop models, the program also extends to some 2025 and 2026 Cadillac Escalade IQ and 2024 Cadillac Lyriq units.
