The 2026 Genesis Electrified G80 Will Launch In South Korea In August With Europe, U.S., And Other Markets Soon To Follow

Genesis has unveiled its refreshed electric vehicle (EV), the 2026 Electrified G80, at the Busan International Mobility Show (BIMOS) in South Korea. This is the first major update for the EV model since its global debut three years ago.
The biggest change in the 2026 Electrified G80 is the extended wheelbase, which has extended by 5.1 inches to 123.6 inches. This expansion in the wheelbase will allow for a larger 95.4 kWh battery pack, up from the previous 87.2 kWh battery pack. As a result, the Electrified G80’s range has gone up to 475 km (295 miles), an 11% improvement over its predecessor by South Korean standards. The EPA’s range estimate for the Electrified G80 is 282 miles.

Aesthetically, the 2026 Electrified G80 features subtle exterior updates including a redesigned three-dimensional crest grille, updated bumpers, and new 19-inch wheels. As for the headlights, it now contains Micro Lens Array (MLA) technology, which improves the EV’s distinctive two-line signature lighting.

As for the interior, the most notable change is the new 27-inch OLED display that combines the instrument cluster and infotainment system under a single piece of glass, replacing the previous 14.5-inch screen. Moreover, the longer wheelbase has also allowed for a more spacious rear compartment, which now features VIP reclining seats with leg rests and a memory function. Additional luxury finishes for the Electrified G80 include an EasyClose system for push-button door closing, enhanced mood lighting, a premium Bang & Olufsen sound system, and a rear window curtain.

As of now, Genesis has not disclosed information regarding the potential powertrain updates or U.S. pricing. The refreshed Electrified G80 is set to launch in South Korea this August, with European and North American markets to follow soon after.
With its blend of higher range, advanced technology, and elevated luxury features, the 2026 Genesis Electrified G80 will certainly attract buyers looking for a luxury experience. As more information becomes available for the U.S. market, potential buyers will be interested to notice this updated Electrified G80 goes against its luxury EV competitors in its market.
