Ferrari’s First Sports EV To Command Premium Price Of Over $500,000

Ferrari is revving up for its first entry into the electric vehicle (EV) market, with plans to unleash an ultra-exclusive, all-electric sports vehicle that will come with an eye-watering price tag exceeding $500,000.

According to Reuters, Ferrari’s inaugural EV offering will cost at least €500,000 (around $535,000) when it makes its highly anticipated debut in Q4 2025. This stratospheric price point positions the electric supercar well above the typical €350,000 ($376,000) selling price for a Ferrari with optional extras.

While such a premium price might dissuade potential buyers from other brands, Ferrari’s affluent client base is unlikely to be deterred by the steep cost of entry into the world of electric performance. Aside from Ferrari’s plug-in hybrid electric vehicle (PHEV), Ferrari SF90 Stradale, the company’s first EV is expected to be one of the most expensive models in its lineup.

Furthermore, the sports EV will be produced at Ferrari’s new production plant in Maranello, Italy, which is set to be inaugurated on Friday. The plant, which will be fully operational within three to four months, is set to produce gas, hybrid, and electric models. In addition, after producing less than 14,000 units in 2023, the plant output is anticipated to hit around 20,000 units according to Reuters. Notably, it is also hinted that a second Ferrari EV is already in the early stages of development, hinting at the company’s ambitious plans to expand its EV lineup in the coming years.

With Ferrari’s first sports EV underway, its challenges against rivals include Lamborghini’s 2028 Lanzador EV with a starting price expected to be around $300,000. As Ferrari aims to establish itself as a leader in high-performance EVs, leveraging its storied heritage and engineering prowess while justifying its exorbitant price tag will place it at new heights as the EV industry awaits its official arrival.
