Ferrari has officially launched the all-electric Luce in China, bringing its first battery-electric production model to the world’s largest EV market with a starting price of 3.988 million yuan (about $586,630).
The four-door grand tourer marks a major milestone for the Italian automaker as it expands into electrification while maintaining its focus on ultra-high-performance luxury vehicles.
The Luce, whose name means “light” in Italian, debuted globally in Rome before making its China debut in Shanghai.
Power comes from four independent electric motors, with two mounted on each axle. Together, they produce 772 kilowatts (1,035 horsepower) and 990 Nm of peak torque, according to CNEV Post.
Ferrari says the Luce accelerates from 0 to 100 km/h in just 2.5 seconds and reaches 200 km/h in 6.8 seconds before continuing to a top speed exceeding 310 km/h.
The vehicle is equipped with a 122 kWh battery operating on an 800-volt electrical architecture. Ferrari estimates a driving range of 530 kilometers and says the battery can recover 70 kWh of energy in approximately 20 minutes when connected to a 350 kW DC fast charger.
The Luce is also Ferrari’s second four-door production model and its first five-seat vehicle, reflecting the company’s effort to broaden its appeal without abandoning its performance-focused heritage.

One of the Luce’s biggest departures from tradition is its design process. Rather than relying solely on Ferrari’s in-house styling team, the automaker turned to LoveFrom, the design firm co-founded by former Apple Chief Design Officer Jony Ive and renowned industrial designer Marc Newson.
The collaboration introduces a new design language featuring a glass-canopy cabin, floating aerodynamic elements, and the largest wheels ever fitted to a Ferrari road car, measuring 23 inches at the front and 24 inches at the rear.
Inside, Ive’s influence is evident through a minimalist cabin that emphasizes physical buttons over touch-sensitive controls. The interior combines glass and aluminum trim with four Samsung OLED displays measuring 12.9, 12, 10.1, and 6.3 inches. Ferrari also says the steering wheel is made from 100% recycled aluminum.
The Luce launches in five exterior colors, including the exclusive Giallo Luce yellow developed specifically for the model.
While the Luce represents Ferrari’s first fully electric vehicle, the company emphasized that battery-electric models will complement, rather than replace, its internal combustion engine lineup as it expands its portfolio.
