Enphase Energy’s New Line Include Residential And Commercial Solar Offerings That Aligns With IRA Incentives

Aside from making electric vehicle (EV) chargers, global energy technology company Enphase Energy has announced a new line of residential and commercial products manufactured in the United States (U.S.) that could qualify buyers for up to 50% in federal tax credits.
Aligned with Enphase Energy’s goal to bolster domestic clean energy production and capitalize on incentives provided by the Inflation Reduction Act (IRA), the company is now shipping IQ8 Microinverters for both residential and commercial applications from its U.S. manufacturing partners.
Known for its microinverter-based solar and battery systems, Enphase Energy’s solar offerings can assist solar projects to qualify for the “Domestic Content Bonus Credit” throughout 2024 when combined with U.S.-made solar racking rails and fasteners.
In further detail under the IRA, residential and commercial solar projects in the U.S. are already eligible for up to 30% in federal tax credits. Enphase’s new offering adds an extra 10% bonus credit for utilizing domestically produced components. Moreover, solar projects in low-income communities can obtain an additional 10% credit, potentially bringing the total tax credit to an impressive 50% for qualifying installations.
Ken Fong, Vice President and General Manager of the Americas at Enphase Energy, expressed the significant development of these new offerings stating, “We have a product solution available today that puts the domestic content bonus tax credit within reach and can help increase access to solar energy across the United States. Thanks to the IRA, we have additional opportunities to reach more people with clean energy, advance our domestic clean energy goals, and create high-quality American jobs.”
As of now, the domestic bonus tax credit is currently only available to commercial asset owners including businesses implementing solar solutions and PPA/lease providers who own residential solar projects according to Enphase Energy.
By introducing these U.S.-made solar offerings, Enphase is not only helping customers maximize their tax benefits but also contributing to the growth of domestic manufacturing in the renewable energy sector. This initiative aligns with broader national efforts to reduce reliance on foreign-made components and strengthen the U.S. clean energy supply chain.
With solar energy solutions in the U.S. becoming more accessible, its growing presence will also become more economically enticing for American buyers and businesses.
