The anticipated arrival of the 2025 Dodge Charger Daytona electric vehicle (EV) will have to wait as it is reportedly facing delays due to electrical issues.

As of now, it has been indicated that the EV’s rollout has been pushed back by around 90 days, potentially impacting its scheduled debut according to Mopar Insider. The Charger Daytona, Dodge’s first production EV, was initially aimed for a summer 2024 launch. However, several electrical issues surfaced during testing including malfunctioning hatches and other electrical gremlins, necessitating additional time for resolution.

Moreover, the official dealer presentation has been postponed from May 2024 to August 2024. As a result, the delay is expected to give Dodge engineers the necessary time to address the issues and ensure a smoother debut for the Charger Daytona EV.

In regards to the Dodge Charger Daytona EV, it represents a significant shift for the company, replacing the popular gas-engine Charger sedan and Challenger model that ceased production at the end of 2023. In addition, the Charger Daytona EV will be available in both two-door and four-door trims.

Initially, Dodge plans to release two trims: the Daytona R/T and the Daytona Scat Pack. The R/T model is expected to produce 456 horsepower or 496 hp with the Power Shot feature, while the Scat Pack delivers 630 to 670 horsepower. Both versions will feature dual-motor all-wheel-drive setups and 100.5-kWh battery packs.
