While the electric pickup segment as a whole contracted during the period, Chevrolet’s full-size battery-electric truck significantly outperformed the broader market.

Chevy Silverado EV sales surged in the third quarter of 2025, with 3,940 deliveries recorded in the United States, nearly doubling year over year with a 97% increase. While the electric pickup segment as a whole contracted during the period, Chevrolet’s full-size battery-electric truck significantly outperformed the broader market, signaling growing traction as it enters its third year on sale.
The Silverado EV finished the quarter mid-pack among five electric pickup trucks sold in the U.S., ranking third by volume. Ford’s F-150 Lightning once again led the segment, posting roughly 10,000 deliveries for a 40% year-over-year increase. Tesla’s Cybertruck followed in second place with approximately 7,100 units sold, despite a modest 5% decline from a year earlier.
Chevrolet’s Silverado EV delivered its strongest quarterly performance to date, climbing to about 4,000 units and earning a 15% segment share, up eight percentage points from last year. It narrowly edged its corporate sibling, the GMC Sierra EV, which recorded 3,374 deliveries and captured a 13% share. Rivian’s R1T trailed the group with around 1,800 units sold, accounting for 7% of the segment, according to GM Authority.
Overall, battery-electric pickup truck sales declined by 9% in Q3 2025, making the Silverado EV’s near-doubling of deliveries a notable outperformance relative to segment trends.

When Silverado EV and Sierra EV sales are combined, General Motors delivered 7,314 electric pickups in the quarter, securing a 28% cumulative segment share. That performance placed GM second overall in the electric pickup category, ahead of Tesla but still trailing Ford.
Beyond trucks, GM now offers one of the industry’s most expansive EV lineups across three of its four brands. Chevrolet sells the Equinox EV and Blazer EV crossovers, alongside the Silverado EV, with the next-generation Chevy Bolt EV scheduled to arrive in 2027. Cadillac currently markets a broad range of electric utilities, including the Optiq, Lyriq, Vistiq, and the full-size Escalade IQ and IQL. GMC rounds out the portfolio with the Sierra EV and the Hummer EV Pickup and SUV.
Altogether, GM delivered 66,501 electric vehicles in Q3 2025, with total EV sales more than doubling year over year—underscoring the automaker’s growing momentum as its electric lineup continues to expand.
