Cadillac Vistiq Will Headline Brand’s EV Launch in Brazil

Cadillac is preparing to enter Brazil with an all-electric vehicle lineup, and the three-row Vistiq will serve as the luxury brand’s flagship EV when sales begin later this year.

The launch is expected in early November ahead of the Brazilian Grand Prix, with the Vistiq joining the smaller Optiq and Lyriq as Cadillac’s initial electric offerings in the market.

Vistiq cleared for Brazilian launch

Cadillac has completed the Brazilian homologation process for the Vistiq, meaning the electric crossover has passed the required validation stages for sale and road use in the country.

The Vistiq will sit above the Optiq and Lyriq in Cadillac’s initial Brazilian EV lineup. Its three-row cabin and executive second-row seating are expected to make it the brand’s largest and most spacious zero-emissions model available at launch, according to GM Authority.

The Brazilian Vistiq will largely follow the configuration used for vehicles exported from the United States to other international markets, including Europe. However, the local-market vehicles will receive some exterior changes, including a bumper with a wider license-plate holder and the removal of the orange side-marker lights used on North American models.

Cadillac will initially import Vistiq from US

Cadillac plans to introduce its Brazilian EV lineup through new Cadillac Experience Centers, with the Vistiq launching alongside the Optiq and Lyriq.

Initially, the Vistiq will be imported from General Motors’ Spring Hill manufacturing facility in Tennessee, where the Lyriq is also produced.

The timing of Cadillac’s Brazilian launch coincides with the brand’s growing motorsports presence. The company is preparing for its first appearance in the Brazilian Formula 1 Grand Prix with the Cadillac F1 team.

For now, Cadillac’s Brazilian lineup will consist exclusively of the three global electric models. The company has not indicated that additional EVs will join the local range at launch.
