BYD DOLPHIN’s Active Trim Starts At £26,195 And The Boost Trim Is Priced At £27,165

BYD has announced the expansion of its DOLPHIN electric vehicle (EV) lineup in the United Kingdom (UK) market with the introduction of two new trims, Active and Boost, to its eco-friendly C-segment hatchback.

According to BYD, the BYD DOLPHIN introduces new, affordable trims, with the Active trim starting at £26,195 ($34,238). The Active trim is equipped with a 44.9 kWh LFP Blade Battery, providing a WLTP range of 211 miles. It is powered by a 70 kW (95 horsepower) motor, offering efficient performance. Like all trims, the Active supports DC fast charging, allowing the battery to charge from 30-80% in just 28 minutes.

The Boost trim, priced at £27,165 ($35,511), also comes with the same 44.9 kWh LFP Blade Battery but offers a slightly lower WLTP range of 193 miles. The Boost trim stands out with its more powerful 130 kW (176 horsepower) motor, delivering stronger performance compared to the Active model.
Both trims are packed with advanced technology and safety features available across all trim levels. The e-Platform 3.0 improves system efficiency and vehicle intelligence, while the Blade Battery, known for its safety and thermal stability, has successfully passed rigorous tests, including the Nail Penetration Test.
Moreover, driver assistance systems come standard including Forward Collision Warning, Autonomous Emergency Braking, Lane Departure Prevention, and Adaptive Cruise Control. For additional safety, a 360-degree panoramic camera provides complete visibility, making maneuvering easier.

In terms of design and comfort, the DOLPHIN embraces BYD’s “Ocean Aesthetics” concept, inspired by the elegance of dolphins. The EV offers a spacious interior with a 2,700 mm wheelbase, comfortably seating five passengers with ergonomically designed vegan leather sports seats. Cargo space is flexible, expanding from 345 liters to 1,310 liters when the rear seats are folded, complemented by over 20 practical storage compartments throughout the EV.
The DOLPHIN also includes several innovative features. Vehicle to Load (VtoL) technology enables the EV to serve as a mobile power station, making it ideal for outdoor activities. A high-efficiency heat pump enhances thermal efficiency by up to 15% in winter, and the CRBS regenerative braking system efficiently recovers braking energy, further improving the EV’s energy efficiency.
Michael Shu, General Manager of BYD Europe and International Cooperation Division, stated, “BYD is convinced that high-tech electric mobility should be available and accessible for everyone.” With the introduction of the Active and Boost trims, BYD aims to make its advanced EVs more attainable for UK buyers.
The new Active and Boost trims join the existing Comfort and Design models, completing the DOLPHIN lineup. All four trims are now available for purchase at local BYD dealers across the UK.
As BYD continues to expand its presence in over 70 countries, the company reaffirms its goal of sustainable development through technological innovations in renewable energy solutions. The DOLPHIN’s expansion in the UK market represents another step towards BYD’s goal of making high-tech, EV transportation accessible to a wider audience.
