Volvo Cars is making waves in the United Kingdom (UK) market by introducing a new entry-level trim for its popular electric vehicle (EV), EX30 SUV, and enhanced luxury features for the XC90 large SUV.

Starting at £32,850 (around $42,000), the new Volvo EX30 Core trim aims to make EVs accessible to more buyers. This new trim level joins the existing Plus and Ultra grades in the EX30 lineup. Available with two powertrain options, the EX30 Core offers a Single Motor version with an estimated range of up to 209 miles and a Single Motor Extended Range variant capable of up to 295 miles.

As for standard features, it includes a rear parking camera, automatic LED headlights, 18-inch alloy wheels, and a 12.3-inch touchscreen infotainment system with Google built-in. Interestingly, the Extended Range trim also incorporates an energy-saving heat pump to optimize power usage and driving range.

Volvo is also upgrading its XC90 large SUV range with new Plus Edition and Ultra Edition trim levels. While specs are not further disclosed in terms of changes, these enhancements include perforated Nappa leather upholstery, ventilated front seats, larger alloy wheels, and tinted windows.

Volvo EX30 Sales And Deliveries

In regards of the introduction of the EX30 Core, it arrives when Volvo experiences major growth in the European EV market. In the first seven months of 2024, Volvo’s EV sales nearly doubled in Europe, with almost 82,000 models delivered. The EX30 has quickly become Volvo’s third best-selling model overall, with 9,201 units sold in July alone.

While the EX30 Core is now available to order in the UK, with deliveries projected in early 2025, the United States (U.S.) will have to wait a bit longer as the EX30’s launch has been delayed until 2025 in their market.

As Volvo continues to expand its EV offerings to meet diverse buyer needs, these latest updates aims to strengthen the company’s presence in both the affordable EV segment and the premium SUV market.
