These Affordable EVs By Volkswagen Are Slated To Debut By 2027

Volkswagen is setting out its plan to release a new line of affordable electric vehicles (EVs) that will challenge the Chinese automaker’s affordable EVs in the evolving automotive landscape.
Through these upcoming releases by Volkswagen, the company will develop entry-level EVs priced at 20,000 euros (around $21,800) to appeal to budget-conscious buyers with a scheduled debut for 2027 according to Reuters.

Notably, Volkswagen had previously hinted at its ID 2all concept with a preview of the design and functionality while teasing affordability expected to have a starting price below 25,000 euros (around $27,000). For its specs, the ID 2all concept delivers an estimated range of up to 279 miles built on a modified MEB platform. Interestingly, its design is similar to Volkswagen’s Golf model design as it arrives as one of the company’s more popular vehicle designs in its overall lineup.

For Chinese EVs, the competition has been high with BYD leading the charge with affordable EVs in its lineup. One that stands out is its BYD Seagull which is priced at $11,400. As a response, Volkswagen’s venture into low-cost EVs underlines its reaction to the growing expansion of Chinese EVs in the European market.
As Volkswagen is preparing to head toward affordable EVs in its transition to electric mobility, the company’s goal of keeping up with the global competition is seen as commendable. With unwavering determination and a focus on technological excellence, Volkswagen’s aim for more affordable EVs in its lineup will be mutually beneficial for both the company and the EV market.
