The new Volkswagen Transporter EV integrates the Bulli DNA into its aesthetic on the front, side, and rear according to Volkswagen. Built 5,050 mm and 5,450 mm in length, the Transporter EV keeps its characteristic contour below the side windows, known as the Bulli line. For the front, it sports designs similar to the T5 in the radiator grille and the T6.1 in its headlights. As for the rear design, it is inspired by the Bulli’s T5 legacy with elements and technical enhancements for a more modern appearance with 16-inch, 17-inch, and 19-inch wheel rims.

Notably, the charging socket flap is located under the right-hand headlight for convenience. Furthermore, pre-sales for the Transporter are already underway in Europe for 36,780 euros (around $39,800) with a scheduled launch for Q1 2025. Moreover, the new Transporter EV will be produced at the Ford Otosan Assembly plant in Turkey.

Albert Kirzinger, Chief Designer of Volkswagen Commercial Vehicles, expressed the selection design of the new Transporter stating, “The details of the seventh Bulli generation pick up the characteristic design features of its six predecessors and give them a new interpretation. This has a tradition – every new Volkswagen Transporter has always represented a new visual beginning, a stylistic bridge between a long history, the present and the future.”

As the EV market awaits for the official debut of the new Transporter EV, more details will be revealed closer to its date. With a mixture of Bulli DNA design and innovative technology, the new Transporter will make an impression in the commercial vehicle EV market upon its arrival.
