Volkswagen Anhui has officially put the ID. UNYX 09 electric fastback sedan on sale in China at a promotional starting price of 169,900 yuan ($25,290), marking its second production EV co-developed with Xpeng.

Built on an 800-volt architecture, every version of the fastback carries a 92 kWh CATL battery capable of adding 250 km of range in five minutes.

Launch pricing cuts 20,000 yuan from the September pre-sale figure

Introduced on October 24 after the earlier ID. UNYX 08 SUV, the new sedan is sold in three configurations—Ultra, a mid-tier fully equipped trim and Max—carrying standard retail prices of 179,900 yuan, 219,900 yuan and 249,900 yuan.

The 179,900 yuan base MSRP undercuts the 199,900 yuan pre-sale starting figure announced on September 24 by 20,000 yuan, while an extra 10,000 yuan Double 11 discount brings the black-exterior Ultra down to 169,900 yuan for the first 500 buyers, according to CnEVPost.

Shoppers who place a deposit between October 24 and November 30 can access the launch incentives, with local dealers handling specific financing terms and promotional cutoff dates.

CATL 5C cells and Xpeng’s 750-TOPS Turing AI chip come standard

Stretching 5,081 mm bumper to bumper on a 3,030 mm wheelbase, the ID. UNYX 09 offers single-motor rear-wheel drive on the first two trims with a 230 kW (308 hp) motor and a 755 km (469-mile) CLTC rating. Stepping up to the dual-motor Max pairs a 140 kW front unit with the 230 kW rear motor for all-wheel drive and a 705 km CLTC range.

All three variants share an approximately 92 kWh pack built with CATL 5C ultra-fast-charging cells, allowing the sedan to recover 250 km of driving range during a five-minute charging stop.

Cabin and automated-driving hardware come from Xpeng, headlined by a 750-TOPS Turing AI processor running a Vision-Language-Action (VLA) model for highway and city Navigation on Autopilot as well as automated parking. Every trim includes an 85-inch augmented-reality head-up display and a 15.6-inch central touchscreen, while the upper two grades add dual-chamber air springs and adaptive DCC dampers.

The sedan stems from the $700 million tie-up Volkswagen and Xpeng forged in July 2023 to build two joint EVs around Xpeng’s vehicle architecture and software stack.
