Starting At $59,990, This Redesigned Model Y Has A Sleek New Look, 320 Miles Of Range, And Luxurious Interior Upgrades

Tesla has launched a comprehensive redesign of its best-selling Model Y electric vehicle (EV) for the 2025 model year in North America and Europe, arriving with significant enhancements that promise to redefine the EV experience.
The new Model Y emerges with a sleeker, more aerodynamic profile that draws inspiration from Tesla’s Robotaxi and Cybertruck designs. Most notably, the vehicle now features a full-width light bar at the front and a distinctive rear light design, departing from its previous aesthetic. The introduction of new wheels, tires, and a retuned suspension system aims to deliver a smoother, more refined ride.

Tesla has made meaningful improvements to the vehicle’s performance capabilities. The Long Range AWD version now boasts an EPA-estimated range of 320 miles, a modest but meaningful increase from the previous 311 miles. Perhaps more impressively, the 0-60 mph acceleration time has been reduced to 4.1 seconds, compared to 4.8 seconds in the previous generation.

The interior of the vehicle has been reimagined to deliver an elevated sense of luxury and cutting-edge technology. Ventilated front seats enhance comfort, making long drives more enjoyable. The addition of power-folding second-row seats offers convenience and flexibility, perfect for accommodating both passengers and cargo.

For rear-seat passengers, an 8-inch touchscreen provides an upgraded entertainment experience, ensuring that everyone stays engaged during the journey. The use of acoustic glass significantly reduces cabin noise, creating a serene environment even at high speeds. Ambient lighting and premium materials throughout the interior add a sophisticated touch, making every ride feel exceptional.

Tesla is taking an unconventional approach to this model refresh. The company is offering both the previous and new Model Y versions, with the new “Launch Series” priced at $59,990 in the U.S and €60,990 in Europe. – a substantial $12,000 increase from the previous model. This Launch Series comes fully equipped with Full Self-Driving capability, special badging, and premium interior treatments.
The timing of this refresh is critical. After experiencing its first sales drop in a decade and facing increased competition from rival manufacturers, Tesla is leveraging the Model Y – which was the world’s best-selling car in 2023 – to reassert its market leadership.

Initially, the new Model Y will be available in four colors: Stealth Grey, Pearl White Multi-Coat, Ultra Red, and Quicksilver. Deliveries in the United States are set to begin in March, with Tesla hinting at more affordable trims to come in the future.
True to Tesla’s philosophy, the new Model Y continues to offer features that have become synonymous with the brand: over-the-air updates, access to over 65,000 Superchargers worldwide, and industry-leading safety design.
As the EV market continues to expand forward, Tesla’s refreshed Model Y represents a strategic bet on continued innovation, luxury, and performance. The automotive world will be watching closely to see how this redesign impacts Tesla’s market position in the coming year.
