Tesla unveiled a new software update for its Cybertruck electric vehicle (EV) with improved off-road capabilities and new innovative features for a more adaptable driving experience.

Previously, Tesla had released its new Spring Release software update recently that involved all of its models in its lineup. Since then, Tesla unveiled new developments of its Cybertruck with new updates that push the limits of the electric picktruck.

One of the key features in the software update is Off-Road Mode, which allows the Cybertruck to go through challenging terrains without worries. Two modes in this feature have distinct settings including Overland Mode and Baja mode. Overland Mode increases the handling and traction on surfaces involving rock, gravel, deep snow, or sand. For Baja mode, the balance and maneuverability of the Cybertruck is increased through minimalizing Stability Assist for off-road trails.

Tesla also introduced the Locking Differentials feature for the dual-motor all-wheel-drive (AWD) trim of the Cybertruck, which can direct the torque to the opposite wheel according to Tesla. Moreover, there is also Front Locking Differential for the tri-motor trim, which involves a virtual rear-locked differential in Overland Mode.

Notably, the software update also includes Trail Assist. This feature is made for off-roading capabilities that help set a consistent cruising speed during uphills and downhills while in full control with wheel slippage also cut down. Other improvements also include the Slippery Surface setting, which increases traction control on challenging terrains, and the Adaptive Suspension, which adjusts damping automatically.

Another key feature that was introduced in the software update is the Cybertent mode. For camping enthusiasts, this feature levels the suspension for sleeping on a provided flat surface. This mode also includes lights, air conditioning, and power outlets for camping convenience. All these features can be controlled easily through your preferences.

As Tesla is betting on the success of its Cybertruck, the new software update will set it apart from other electric pickup trucks in the EV market. With the Cybertruck turning heads in the EV industry, the new features that appeal to the demographic of off-road enthusiasts will work in the company’s favor.
