Tesla and Uber have revealed a new collaborative incentive program aimed at encouraging ride-share drivers to transition to electric vehicles (EVs). The program offers eligible Uber drivers up to $2,000 in combined benefits when purchasing a new Tesla Model 3 or Model Y.

According to Tesla, the incentive package includes two main benefits for eligible Uber drivers: an initial $1,000 in Tesla Credits and an additional $1,000 cash reward. The Tesla Credits are provided immediately upon vehicle delivery and can be applied towards various Tesla offerings, such as Supercharging, service appointments, select merchandise, accessories, or even future Tesla vehicle purchases. Once drivers complete 100 Uber trips, they’ll receive the additional $1,000 cash reward directly from Uber.

Notably, Tesla Credits cannot be reissued, transferred, redeemed for cash, used for upgrade subscriptions, or applied to gift cards or other purchases, such as Tesla Tequila.

Eligibility Requirements

To qualify for this program, Uber drivers must meet specific conditions. First, they must be active Uber drivers in good standing. Second, they need to take delivery of a new Tesla Model 3 or Model Y by December 31, 2024—used vehicles are not eligible. Finally, they must complete the required 100 trips by February 15, 2025, to secure the full incentive package.

Stackable Benefits

While the offer cannot be combined with most Tesla promotions, including the company’s 0% financing option and Refer and Earn Program, it can be stacked with the $1,000 Military Discount, providing additional savings for eligible service members.

Continuing Partnership

This initiative marks the second major collaboration between Tesla and Uber in recent months. Earlier this year, from January to March 2024, the companies offered a similar $2,000 discount program. Additionally, in September, Tesla integrated Uber’s platform into its vehicles to improve navigation and convenience for drivers.

“Active Uber drivers in good standing” can access this offer through Tesla’s dedicated website at tesla.com/uber. The program represents another step in both companies’ efforts to accelerate the adoption of electric vehicles in the ride-sharing industry.

With this partnership between Tesla and Uber, it continues to demonstrate both companies’ commitment to expanding EV adoption in the ride-sharing sector while providing tangible benefits to drivers looking to make the switch to electric mobility.
