Tata Motors Unveils Plans For AVINYA EVs Based On JLR’s EMA Platform

Tata Motors is currently gearing up to introduce its AVINYA electric vehicle (EV) lineup, which will feature a range of SUVs and MPVs through the Jaguar Land Rover’s (JLR) EMA platform.

First unveiled in March 2022, AVINYA EVs will contain a diverse set of model types with SUVs and MPVs taking center stage, marking a departure from its conventional offerings of internal combustion engine (ICE) vehicles according to Autocar India.

Moreover, the AVINYA EV model drawing upon Jaguar Land Rover’s modular EMA architecture is aimed to imbue its range with exceptional performance and versatility. By localizing the platform, Tata Motors is also focusing on harnessing cost efficiencies while upholding its dedication to bringing value to its buyers through its Gen 3 EV architecture.

Furthermore, it has been disclosed that the AVINYA EV models will consider utilizing a 300-400 V system by Shailesh Chandra, the Managing Director of Tata Motors Passenger Vehicles and Tata Passenger Electric Mobility, during Tata Motors’ Q4 FY2022 earnings conference call.

In addition, the upcoming AVINYA EV models will be produced at Tata Motors’ plant in Tamil Nadu. While details regarding the company’s operational structure for the AVINYA EV models remain undisclosed, speculation abounds regarding its potential as an independent entity or a sub-brand within Tata Motors.

With the AVINYA EV models aimed to elevate and revolutionize India’s automotive landscape, Tata Motors bringing a range from SUVs and MPVs will cater to a diverse market in India’s buyer demands. The forthcoming AVINYA EV lineup will be slated to debut around late 2025.
