Subaru Solterra EV Sales Triple to New Record For May 2024

Subaru of America (SOA) has reported exceptional sales figures for May 2024, specifically with the Subaru Solterra electric vehicle (EV) model leading the charge as its sales tripled to reach a new record.

In May 2024, Subaru’s overall vehicle sales in the United States (U.S.) totalled 58,356 vehicles, which is a 7% increase year-over-year. This also marks the 22nd consecutive month of year-over-year growth for the company with a year-to-date volume of 267,215 units, an increase of 7.3% compared to the same period last year according to Subaru.

Notably, the stand-out performer of Subaru’s sales lineup for May 2024 is the Subaru Solterra, which is the company’s EV SUV model. Particularly, the Solterra saw 4,149 units sold, three times the previous month’s record of only 1,546 units sold according to Subaru. Furthermore, Subaru Solterra’s share of the brand’s total volume in May reached a record 2.65%, showcasing its growing significance within Subaru’s portfolio.

Troy Poston, Senior Vice President of Sales at Subaru of America, expressed optimism about Subaru’s sales performance, stating, “May was another milestone month for Subaru with strong sales and continued recognition of our focus on safety. With numerous models in our lineup receiving notable recommendations as top choices for teen drivers, we’re confident that the Subaru family will continue to grow for generations to come.”

As Subaru plans to elevate its EV lineup with three new models along with Toyota, the company’s Solterra model is securing a solid position in Subaru while making major strides in the competitive EV market. With Subaru’s May 2024 sales numbers making new records, the company’s position in the automotive landscape has reached new heights through the help of its increase in EV sales.
