Porsche has unveiled a stunning new addition to its electric vehicle (EV) lineup: the Taycan Turbo S Celestial Jade. This one-off creation, developed by Porsche Exclusive Manufaktur in collaboration with Porsche Asia Pacific, showcases a revolutionary paint technology that took a full year to perfect.

The Celestial Jade’s most striking feature is its unique paintwork, which uses a blend of two Chromaflair effect paints: Urban Bamboo (a bright green with yellow and gold tones) and Shifting Carbon (a dark grey with black and blue tones). This combination creates a chameleon-like effect, allowing the car to change color depending on the viewing angle and lighting conditions.

The paint contains microscopic “flakes” consisting of a reflective aluminum core surrounded by a glass-like layer just 1 µm thick, which is 50 times thinner than a human hair according to Porsche. This intricate composition is what gives the Taycan its mesmerizing, color-shifting appearance.

The development of this unique paint took around one year, with the actual painting process requiring 80 hours of meticulous handwork. The choice of jade as inspiration is not coincidental; in Chinese culture, jade symbolizes nobility, perfection, constancy, happiness, and immortality.

Based on the 2024 Porsche Taycan Turbo S model, this unique EV delivers impressive performance specs including up to 700 kW (952 horsepower) peak power with Launch Control. Moreover, the 2024 Porsche Taycan Turbo S model can accelerate from 0-100 km/h acceleration in just 2.4 seconds. In perspective, this time is 0.4 seconds faster than its predecessor.

Notably, the Porsche Taycan Turbo S Celestial Jade made its world premiere on September 5th in Singapore. It will embark on a tour of various locations in Southeast Asia before being auctioned for charity in 2025.

This one-off creation also underlines Porsche’s expanded Sonderwunsch program, which allows buyers to commission highly personalized vehicles. The program now includes Factory Re-Commissioning and Factory One-Off services for vehicles already delivered to buyers.

It showcases not only our technical prowess but also our commitment to pushing the boundaries of automotive design and personalization.”
