Neta Auto, a brand under Chinese electric vehicle (EV) automaker Hozon Auto, has officially launched its new Neta S shooting brake, expanding its flagship sedan lineup with a stylish estate version.

According to Neta, the new model called the Neta S shooting brake, which debuted on August 26, 2024, offers both battery electric vehicle (BEV) and extended-range electric vehicle (EREV) trims.

The Neta S shooting brake starts at 159,900 yuan (around $22,440), slightly higher than its sedan counterpart. The BEV version comes in four trims: 510 Air, 510 Standard, 510 Pro, and 640 AWD Max, with prices ranging from 159,900 yuan to 209,900 yuan (around $22,440 to $29,472). The EREV version is available in two trims: 300 Standard and 300 Pro, priced at 169,900 yuan and 179,900 yuan (around $23,850 to $25,260), respectively.

Measuring 4,980 mm in length, 1,980 mm in width, and 1,480 mm in height, with a wheelbase of 2,980 mm, the Neta S shooting brake arrives with sleek design with practicality. The exterior features a diamond-shaped grille, large air intakes, and LED daytime running lights. Some trims come equipped with roof-mounted LiDAR for advanced driver assistance capabilities.

The top-tier BEV trim delivers exceptional performance, accelerating from 0-100 km/h in 3.9 seconds. Other BEV models utilize CATL’s Shenxing long-life battery series, offering a CLTC range of 510 km (316 miles) and supporting fast charging that can add 200 km (124 miles) of range in 10 minutes.

Notably, Neta plans to introduce a version of the Neta S shooting brake BEV based on CATL’s CIIC (CATL Integrated Intelligent Chassis) skateboard platform, potentially making it the world’s first passenger car model built on this innovative chassis.

As for the EREV trims, it features a 43.88 kWh battery pack, providing a CLTC battery range of up to 300 km (186 miles) and a combined range of 1,200 km (745 miles) with the range extender.

For the interior the Neta S shooting brake provides a luxurious cabin with a unique blue color scheme and advanced technology features. These include a 49-inch head-up display, a 17.6-inch touchscreen, and an optional NVIDIA Orin-X chip platform for enhanced computing power.

With this launch, Neta aims to compete with other Chinese automakers in the premium EV segment, challenging models such as the NIO ET5T, ZEEKR 001, and the upcoming ZEEKR 007 Touring Edition.

With the introduction of the Neta S shooting brake, its debut comes as the company reported delivering 11,015 units in July 2024, representing a 9.72% year-on-year increase. However, the January-July period saw a 10.59% decrease in deliveries compared to the previous year, with 64,785 units delivered.

As the EV market in China continues to grow, the Neta S shooting brake becomes another addition in the diversification of EV offerings, combining the practicality of an estate with the advanced EV technology and performance of modern EVs.
