Bach’s exit follows the departure of multiple senior executives as the luxury EV maker faces a pivotal period defined by new model launches and financial restructuring.

Lucid Motors has confirmed the departure of longtime Chief Engineer and SVP of Product Eric Bach after more than a decade with the company, marking another high-profile exit in a widening leadership overhaul. Bach’s exit follows the departure of multiple senior executives as the luxury EV maker faces a pivotal period defined by new model launches and financial restructuring.
Bach, who joined Lucid in 2015 after engineering roles at Tesla and Volkswagen, played a key role in developing the Lucid Air sedan and the upcoming Gravity SUV. His exit, along with Vice President of Engineering James Hawkins, underscores broader internal shifts at the company. Lucid declined to comment on Hawkins’ departure, which also comes amid the retirement of Vice President of Quality Jeri Ford.
Ford will be succeeded by Marnie Levergood, previously with Scout Motors, while Lucid’s Senior Vice President of Powertrain, Emad Dlala, has been promoted to oversee all Engineering and Digital operations. Dlala has been with Lucid since 2015 and received an earlier promotion this year, according to TechCrunch. These moves are part of Lucid’s ongoing effort to stabilize leadership following the sudden resignation of CEO Peter Rawlinson in February.

The leadership shake-up arrives as Lucid enters its ninth month under interim CEO Marc Winterhoff. The company recently launched its long-awaited Gravity SUV, expected to outperform the slower-selling Air sedan in both reach and profitability. Lucid is also developing a midsized EV priced around $50,000, targeted for a 2026 debut, though executives have acknowledged the need for additional capital to fund the project.
On Wednesday, Lucid said its majority owner, Saudi Arabia’s sovereign wealth fund, increased the cap of an existing loan facility from $750 million to approximately $2 billion, extending liquidity through 2027. While the funding boost gives Lucid more breathing room, the loss of veteran engineering talent adds new pressure as it ramps up production and competition intensifies in the premium EV space.
